Drill Pipe International’ stabilizers are manufactured with 4142 heat treated tool joints. We also apply carbide hard facing to all of the wear surfaces on the stabilizer. We manufacture smooth body or ribbed design (straight, spiral, or spiral straight). Each rib is 100% individually hand welded onto the stabilizer to ensure maximum strength and efficiency. Drill Pipe International stabilizers are manufactured from a thick walled steel pipe. We can create any thread and accommodate any size OD.

Stabilizers are manufactured from premium chrome moly alloy steel, heat treated using procedures that obtain maximum hardness, strength and impact value properties. Threads are machined in strict accordance with API Spec. Hard banding of stabilizer employ’s "pressed in" Tungsten Carbide alloy buttons or carboloy anti-wear materials. All stabilizers should be ultrasonic tested.

To order have the following information:

  1. Hole size or required blade O.D.
  2. Number of blades required (3 or 4 are standard styles)
  3. Straight or spiral blades
  4. Hardfacing type (Tungsten Carbide, Geothermal, T.C.I. Tube Borium)
  5. Top and Bottom Connections
  6. Body diameter required
  7. String or Near Bit application
  8. Necessary special features (Stress Relief Groove(SRG) on connections, bored for float, non-mag body, non-mag blades up to 12-1/4” O.D. straight only)

Both ends and the center drive section are full length machined. All kellys are precision bored to provide dimension true bores and are drifted to API specifications.
